Freelance

What is it?
Freelance photography is simply getting paid for something you love to do. It tends to be expensive, on your own terms (choice to do full/part time) and you can decide to do it as part of a co-operative team or working independently from your own home. You would usually find yourself specialising in a certain type of photography, although many freelancer's like to keep their options open and promote their work and services under 3 or 4 different types of photography.

What are the different types of freelancing?

What skills do you need?
1. ORGANISATIONAL: meeting deadlines, managing income and expenses, travel
2. CAMERA KNOWLEDGE: the capability of your camera, deciding best setting and lighting situations depending on the job

What are the advantages of freelance photography?
You are in complete control of your own business. You plan your own work day, specialise in your best photography field (if there's many, then even better), work at your own pace, get more experience, get the opportunity to travel and go as far into your career as you're willing to go.
